We start with the best trees; we finish with the best lumber

Quality is a round-the-clock job at Townsend Lumber. When we’re not busy maintaining the highest industry standards for kiln and mill operations, we’re dreaming up ways to make those standards better.

Townsend Lumber Inc. has a total dry kiln capacity of 450,000 board feet consisting of nine modern computerized dry kilns and one steam kiln. Approximately seven million board feet of lumber is kiln dried annually to a moisture content of 6-8%. All of our dry storage buildings are new insulated structures with waterproof doors to ensure the moisture content does not change. All our lumber is graded green and then re-graded after drying and prepared according to customer specifications. All our lumber is dried on patented Breeze Dried Sticks. See Available Inventory

Our dedication to quality runs right through the grain of our kiln-dried lumber operations. Maybe it’s because of the outstanding quality of standing timber that surrounds us here in Southwestern Ontario. We are in the heart of Canada’s only Carolinian Forest region. The microclimate around the North shore of Lake Erie and close to Lake Ontario, Lake St. Clair, and Lake Huron combines with the right soil conditions to produce the beautiful hardwood tree species usually found further South.
